NOTICE RE: LANARK LODGE
Updated message March 15, 2020
Message to our residents' families and friends:
In follow up to our communication on Thursday, March 12, 2020, in order to ensure a safe and secure environment for our residents, long-term care homes in Ontario have now been directed by the Chief Medical Officer of Health to further restricts visitors to ONLY allowing essential visitors in the home until further notice.
The Ministry defines essential visitors as those who have a resident who is actively dying or very ill. These visitors must be actively screened by staff for illness prior to being permitted in the building. Those who fail the screening will NOT be permitted to enter the Home.
No other visitors are permitted to enter the premises; instead, you are asked to keep in touch with your loved ones by phone or other technologies, as available.
We ask that you make your family members and friends of the residents who visit the Home aware of this new directive to help to avoid them presenting to the Home only to find out that they are NOT permitted to visit.
Please be assured that staff will continue to keep you up to date should there be any change in status with your loved one.
As the situation continues to evolve we will continue to keep you to updated.
We sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation in all our efforts to try our best to keep our vulnerable residents as well as our staff as safe as possible.
Lanark Lodge has an extensive amount of experience working with older adults, in particular those with dementia. Staff are continuously supported to enhance their knowledge and skills to support residents living at Lanark Lodge. We support an inter-disciplinary approach to care and include families as an essential component of the resident’s care team.
Our home has been decorated to feel “home-like” with wide hallways, bright, spacious rooms, with common indoor and outdoor spaces for resident gatherings. In addition, we support the resident’s spiritual care needs and continued connection with their community through our volunteer networks.
We are a regulated health care service provider governed by the Long-Term Care Homes Act (2007) and its supporting Regulations. Lanark Lodge is fully accredited by Accreditation Canada, and is an active member of the Ontario Association of Non-Profit Homes and Services for Seniors.
